I started watching anime in 2012 and I
still watch it, but now much less. My favourite genre is shounen.
Anime – it's Japanese animation, mostly based on manga (Japanese comics), but also on video games or light novels. It has many different genres. Here are some of them:
Anime – it's Japanese animation, mostly based on manga (Japanese comics), but also on video games or light novels. It has many different genres. Here are some of them:
Shounen - mainly addressed to boys, usually the main
character is a boy, e.g.: Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood, Bleach, Ao
no Exorcist.
/Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood/
The events take place in an alternative
world in the 20th century. The main characters are two brothers -
senior Edward Elric and younger Alphonse Elric. Both are passionate
about alchemy, a form of science that requires a lot of knowledge and
abilities. One day their mother Trisha dies. The brothers, unable to
accept the loss of a loved one, decide to bring her back to life
through alchemy. They break taboos and carry out transmutation. The
results of their activities turn out to be tragic. Alphonse loses his
body and Edward loses his left leg. With the last of his strength,
the elder brother manages to devote his right hand and binds his
brother's soul to the old armor. Since then, the main task of Ed and
Ala is to find a philosophical stone that increases alchemy abilities
and thus restores lost bodies.
/Bleach/

Kurosaki Ichigo is 15 years old and has an unbelievable ability to see ghosts of dead people. One day a demon appears in the city, which no one but Ichigo sees. Behind the demon follows a mysterious girl who finally kills the demon, and in the evening appears in the house of Ichigo. Rukia presents herself as the god of death, whose task is to kill demons and bring dead souls to heaven called Soul Society. The demons that appear in the city seem to be looking for Ichigo because his soul is a special booty for them - he sees what no one else can see: their very selves and the god of Death. To protect his family, Ichigo must become the God of Death. Rukia gives him her strength and weakness takes on the body of an earth girl, for the time when she will regain her strength. Ichigo doubts whether he can serve all people and protect against demons not only his family, but also anyone who needs it.
/Ao no Exorcist/
The world consists of two
interconnected dimensions: the world of people - Assiah and the world
called Gehenna inhabited by demons. Usually the interaction between
these dimensions is impossible, but demons can go to the world of
people if they are possessed by Assiah's objects or residents.
However, it is not so easy for Satan himself - in the human world,
there is nothing capable of maintaining his power. Rin Okumura is the
son of this infernal ruler, but in spite of his father's plans, he
decides to become an exorcist and fight against the forces of
darkness.
Seinen - addressed mainly to young men
between 18 and 30 years old, e.g.: Hellsing Ultimate, Another,
Basilisk.
/Hellsing Ultimate/
Anime
"Hellsing" tells a story about an organization fighting with
various kinds of vampires and "not dead". The organization
is commanded by Mrs Integral, who deals with most matters. The
aforementioned organization is assisted by a vampire named
Alucard. He is the subordinate of Mrs. Integral, who accidentally
awakened him. The problem of "not dead" is worrying not
only Great Britain, but also the Vatican. However, the influence of
the Queen of Great Britain makes it impossible for the Vatican to
work more in the kingdom.
/Another/
/Another/
Anime begins with showing the story of a model and popular student named Misaki, who is dying unexpectedly 26 years before the main action. However, her classmates decided to behave as though Misaki were still among them until she finished school. In the spring of 1998, Kouichi Sakakibara goes to the same school. He immediately senses the restless atmosphere prevailing in the classroom. He is most intrigued by Mei, a mysterious girl with an eye patch. Nobody seems to notice her.
/Basilisk/
Hatred Kouga and Iga - two powerful
ninja families - have lasted for four hundred years, and all attempts
to make peace came to nothing or ended in even worse massacres.
Nevertheless, it seems that soon the centuries-long struggles will
eventually go down in history. Soon, the heirs of both families -
Gennosuke and Oboro - will be married to seal the eternal and lasting
peace. Both clans are already waiting for this moment and it seems
that - at least roughly - they accept the idea of reconciliation.
Shoujo – it's adressed mainly to
girls, e.g.: Vampire Knight.
/Vampire Knight/
The main character is Yuuki Cross, a
student of the so-called Daytime Class of the unusual Cross Academy.
School owes its specific character to the fact that in addition to
daytime lessons, classes for the Night Class, whose pupils are
vampires, are also held. The real identity of the Night Class is
closely guarded by Yuuki and her colleague Zero Kiryuu, who was
entrusted with the task of maintaining order between two groups of
students. With time, it turns out that this is only part of the
secrets that hide behind the walls of the Cross Academy.
… and so on.
